Detailed description

Sculpture "Lisa", bronze version

Lisa - a secular goddess of beauty.

It would be somewhat accurate to call the works of the French sculptor Alain Choisnet, born in Brittany in 1962, classical: He unmistakably likes to follow the classical aesthetics of antiquity, executing body shape and drapery with subtle attention to detail. That is what, for example, he creates with his sculpture "Lisa": a homage to femininity that may make her appear - quite antiquely - as a goddess of beauty.
Nevertheless, the fact that "Lisa" is a thoroughly modern woman can't be denied. And so Choisnet not only aims at perfectly crafted realism and subtle sensuality, but his "Lisa" also radiates calmness and composure, which characterises his protagonist as a strong, self-confident personality.

Edition in fine bronze. Sculpture cast using the Lost-Wax-Process, patinated and polished by hand. Limited edition of 199 copies, numbered and signed. Size 19.5 x 41.5 x 17 cm (w/h/d). Weight 5.2 kg. ars mundi Exclusive Edition.
