Giuseppe Bessi

Born in 1857 in Volterra, Tuscany, Giuseppe Bessi quickly rose from being a universally respected sculptor to director of the art academy. In Volterra, he taught "Figure and Sculpture" for many years. Since the Tuscan city is also the home of alabaster, Bessi found here the ideal environment for his diverse creations. Many of his objects are now exhibited in museums and part of private collections all over the world.
