Sonja Edle von Hoeßle

Everything is in a state of flux: in Sonja Edle von Hoeßle's oil paintings, colour seems to flow, the element of water is literally palpable. The viewer can somehow sense nature and landscapes, but as in a dream, the contours remain unclear.

The paintings with their relief-like surfaces appear dynamic and organic, almost alive. For this visual effect, the artist developed her very individual painting technique, in which she applies several layers of oil paint to the canvas and literally modulates the thick application of paint with a palette knife and knife.

In addition to painting, Sonja Edle von Hoeßle, born in 1960, is also a sculptor. She studied visual communication at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz and Würzburg and has been presenting her work regularly nationally and internationally since 1996.
