The works of Veronika Olma (born in 1962) honour the moment. Using the traditional technique of icon painting, she documents fleeting moments and, in this way, recommends that the viewer decelerate their gaze.
Olma studied art, art history, German language and literature at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and has since worked as a freelance painter and designer. Her work ranges from paintings and drawings to photographs and objects.
The artist has exhibited at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen and the Kunsthalle Würth in Schwäbisch Hall, among other places, and has received several awards and prizes for her work. Olma lives and works in Enkenbach-Alsenborn near Kaiserslautern, Germany.
