Welf Schiefer

Welf Schiefer, born in 1980, began his artistic career with street art before taking up his graphic design studies at the Hildesheim University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2003. He studied the printing techniques of lithography, serigraphy, linocut and etching under Bernd Frank (poster design) and Paul Kunofski. Schiefer names Max Ernst, George Grosz and Otto Dix as his role models.

With his critical-ironic drawing style and his love of mischievous detail, there is always something new for the viewer to discover. He lives and works as a freelance artist – with a focus on etching – in Hanover.
