About C. Jeré
Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels founded the corporation "Artisan House" in 1963 to design and offer metal sculptures under the joint (artist's) name C. Jeré. The ambition was not low: gallery-quality for a large audience was to be achieved, and the "Artisan House" remained true to this ambition even when Freiler and the recently deceased Fels withdrew.
C. Jeré and "Artisan House" still stand for sophisticated metal art today, which convinces through its ingenuity in design and creation and, last but not least, also in its perfect craftsmanship.
A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.
While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, in bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually, it is made of clay or other easily mouldable materials.
The prime time of sculpture after the Greek and Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Contemporary artists such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz also enriched sculptures with outstanding works.
