About Katrien Caymax
The Belgian artist Katrien Caymax was born in 1951 in the Flemish town of Meeuven. She studied graphic arts and painting at the Hasselt Art School in Belgium. At the University of Belgrade, she became a master of the elaborate and rarely executed technique of colour aquatint, which gives her colourful oeuvre a special touch.
With light, flowing lines and clear colours, Katrien Caymax paints atmospheric, naïve-looking pictures that tell stories, with their meaning becoming only apparent at a second glance. Marvellous!
Her richly coloured paintings created with great painterly skills are recognised and exhibited at worldwide art fairs such as Germany, France, London and New York.
