Wall object "Raven Talks"
"An old, already dead tree in front of the setting sun. In the background, only indicated by a fine line, a range of hills. Two ravens are sitting close together as if immersed in a conversation. We can only guess what they are talking about, perhaps it's about who won the sheep race today?
On my walks, I encounter ravens or other corvids almost every day. I can constantly observe something new. They drop walnuts from a great height onto the path or run them over by vehicles to get to the tasty contents as easily as possible. Or they use acrobatic flight manoeuvres to chase away the birds of prey that are raiding their territory. Or they hop around on the sheep that graze our fields in autumn. It looks as if there is a competition to see who is the cheekiest and most audacious. All these observations inspired me to create the object 'Raven Talks'," says Klaus Börner.

About Klaus Börner
Born in 1951 in Hildesheim, Germany, the goldsmith and sculptor Klaus Börner is a loner, an individualist, and a solitary artist who does not subscribe to the current and quickly forgotten art trends but instead follows his own way, close to nature.
Börner uses mainly slate for his unmistakable objects. He combines the small rectangular slate panels with materials such as bronze, steel, brass and sapphires. They combine with the fine lines carved into the slate to create enchanting landscape impressions. The compositions consist of a few pictorial elements, such as trees or animals, allowing a lot of room for imagination.
