Detailed description
Set of two garden ornaments "Large and Small Meerkat"
The special garden dwellers: In Africa, art is often not created on prefabricated canvases and is made by purchased paint tubes. It is created from whatever was available to the artists at the time - the brothers Aron and Innocent Luwagala from Zimbabwe, for example, reach for sheet metal, screws, tubes and wires. With their exuberant imagination and almost unbelievable skill, they shape them into lifelike meerkats in their workshop - by hand.
In European zoos, the meerkats are real legends and not just for the youngsters. In Africa, they live in large societies with distributed roles - including that of the guardian, who stretches himself high to secure the environment for all the others. The meerkat is, therefore, a social creature - also, in your garden, the meerkat, artfully sculpted by the Luwagala brothers, will look friendly.
Meerkat small: size 14 x 31 x 27 cm (w/h/d). Meerkat large: size 17 x 39 x 37 cm (w/h/d). Each piece is unique. Sizes and colours may vary.
Set of large and small meerkat.
This set contains the following products
A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.
While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, in bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually, it is made of clay or other easily mouldable materials.
The prime time of sculpture after the Greek and Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Contemporary artists such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz also enriched sculptures with outstanding works.
