Detailed description
Picture "Sculpture 3", on stretcher frame
It is the flowing, soft forms that interact perfectly here and perfectly emphasise each other: A female torso, partially covered by heavy cloth in almost classical drapery - a nude that shows and hides, leaving Eros its secret.
Giclée print on canvas, stretched on a stretcher frame. Size 70 x 70 cm. Limited edition of 299 copies, signed and numbered on the back.
About Norman Alden Cutler
The German-American, born in 1960 in Stuttgart, Germany, is a graduated psychotherapist. His profound paintings are reminiscent of the concrete figurative paintings of René Magritte. In fact, the artist is concerned with depicting the mystery of a picture not in a formally abstract way but rather in a content-oriented way: "Nothing formal or any other complications need to be added to the complexity of the inner and outer reality. That only distracts from the essential. The moment of abstraction in my works lies in the theme, the summary of the essential and in the concentration on the composition in which everything emerges."
Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler "to squirt, spurt".
The giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different-coloured dye- or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are fade-proof, i.e. resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.
The giclée process is suitable for art canvases, handmade and watercolour paper as well as for silk.
