Detailed description

Design wall object "GIS-8 Topography blue-phtalo" (2024)

"Wall Topographies" - this is what Berlin-based artist Sebastian Welzel names his unique works. Using many identically sized tetrahedra, he creates large surfaces with a relief-like structure. The tetrahedra, approximately 3 centimetres high, are coloured in carefully selected combinations. This results in a colourful, three-dimensional surface, with the visual impression changing depending on the viewing angle and spatial environment: Brightness and angle of the light define both the shadows and reflections, as well as determine the intensity and hue of the colour.

The Prussian blue monochrome colour scheme and the simple rotation of some tetrahedra make this design particularly impressive. Hand-sprayed laminated cardboard with high light resistance on a thin wooden carrier board. Limited edition of 20 copies, numbered and signed by hand. Size 84 x 98 x 3 cm (h/w/d). Weight approx. 3 kg. With suspension device.
