Detailed description
Picture "Human Blur Blue" (2009), on stretcher frame
Sven Pfrommer is a communication designer and graduate designer specialising in visual communication, working as a designer, photographer and art director. His "Human Blur" appears as a demonstration of the interplay between the eye and the brain in the process of seeing. It addresses visual perception at the border of what is still visually (and neurologically) decipherable.
The eponymous effect named "blurring" and "smudging" lead to a shadowy abstraction that, if taken a little further, would leave only spots and colours. However, the group of people depicted is still easily recognisable - and simultaneously "colours" the sensory impression emotionally (an effect that makes "Human Blur Blue" appear much cooler than the version "Human Blur Red").
Giclée on artist's canvas, 2009. Limited edition of 199 copies, numbered and signed by hand. Stretched on stretcher frame. Size 60 x 120 cm (h/w).

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler "to squirt, spurt".
The giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different-coloured dye- or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are fade-proof, i.e. resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.
The giclée process is suitable for art canvases, handmade and watercolour paper as well as for silk.
