Detailed description
Tapestry "Trees and Blue Birds" - after Wiliam Morris
True to the original woven art inspired by the style "Tissage d'art de Lys" of the beginning of the last century. Stylised and intricately drawn images of plants and birds inspired by the designs of one of the first design companies, William Morris & Co.
William Morris was a British textile designer, artist, writer and member of the artists' group called "Pre-Raphaelites". Closely associated with the English Arts and Crafts movement, he founded a furniture and interior decoration firm in 1861 with fellow artists Edward Burne-Jones and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. He and his designers were particularly interested in the revival of traditional textile art.
Tapestry, meticulously made of wool, cotton and polyester. Size 85 x 50 cm (h/w).
