Detailed description

Sculpture "Golfer" (2014), bronze

The moment after the swing - captured in gleaming golden bronze. Torsten Mücke's "Golfer" pauses in a perfect posture and looks after the flying golf ball. The German sculptor expresses the athlete's body tension and concentration in this sculpture with only a few but precisely chosen contours. Mücke always goes to the limits of abstraction in his modelling, but the figure and its message always remain recognisable. Its essence even gains strength, and it becomes a universal symbol with multi-layered possibilities of interpretation.

Sculpture in fine bronze, chiselled and patinated. Cast by hand using the Lost-Wax-Process. On a pedestal of black granite. Limited edition 199 copies, numbered and signed. Size incl. pedestal 32 x 20 x 12 cm (h/w/d). Size pedestal 2 x 16 x 12 cm (h/w/d). Weight approx. 3.6 kg.

About Torsten Mücke

The German sculptor Torsten Mücke, born in 1964, finds the models for his symbolic sculptures both among people and in the animal world. The trained goldsmith and metal sculptor has developed a very individual visual language in which he reduces the features of his objects to the necessary. In this way, he emphasises their essence and allows them to become universal symbols.
