Ushabti

Among the most important grave goods were the so-called Ushabtis. According to the Book of the Dead, these small figures were supposed to serve for the deceased by calling upon to do manual labor in the afterlife. For this purpose, they hold their tools in crossed hands, mostly an hoe and a chisel, while a carrying a basket that is hanging over their shoulder.
