Norman Alden Cutler

The German-American, born in 1960 in Stuttgart, Germany, is a graduated psychotherapist. His profound paintings are reminiscent of the concrete figurative paintings of René Magritte. In fact, the artist is concerned with depicting the mystery of a picture not in a formally abstract way but rather in a content-oriented way: "Nothing formal or any other complications need to be added to the complexity of the inner and outer reality. That only distracts from the essential. The moment of abstraction in my works lies in the theme, the summary of the essential and in the concentration on the composition in which everything emerges."
