Two-Headed Snake

The Egyptians called the two-headed, five-fold ringed primordial snake "Lord of Life". Snakes played an important role in the faith of the gods. They captured the imagination with their mysterious and dangerous nature. The annual moult was considered a symbol of eternal rejuvenation and rebirth.
