Ed Heck

The colourful comic drawings of the US artist Ed Heck (born in 1963) captivate primarily because of their childlike, naïve charm and amusing characters. One of Heck's most popular motifs is the black and white spotted dog with long black ears, which remains his unmistakable trademark today. In addition to dogs, the works of this New York artist frequently feature cats, birds, dinosaurs, and monsters.

After studying art at the New York School of Visual Arts, Ed Heck worked as an illustrator for the American Museum of Natural History, creating true-to-the-original drawings of prehistoric animals. Inspired by this, he began drawing his own dinosaurs and developed his distinctive style.

Ed Heck lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
