Alban Welti

The works of Alban Welti, one of Switzerland's most popular contemporary artists, are a perfect example of how art is an expression of the soul and inner experience. "Chagall means a lot to me," says the quiet painter, who, like his great role model, is described as a "poet of painting" and who knows how to express sensations in pictures.

Alban Welti has preserved the legacy of the great colour magician. He found his visual language, which, like his teacher's, stands out for its fine perfection of colour coordination. It is the small things in life that he observes and reproduces with love and enthusiasm: Objects and moods that appeal to him.

The enchanting impressions of the Swiss painter, who was born in 1951 in Berikon/Aargau, became internationally known through numerous exhibitions in Zurich, Geneva, Bern, Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt and London. Today Welti's uniquely poetic works are coveted by art collectors all over the world and are already represented in many renowned collections.
