Picture "NO" (2010)
The edition, which was produced after the group exhibition "Back to Black", shows the simple but unambiguous German word NEIN (English: NO) - on the finest paper. The model was a mobile phone photograph by Süssmayr, with which he captured the protest message scratched into a wall and then translated it into his own handwriting.
Digital print 2010, edition of 50 copies + 21 A.P. copies, numbered and signed on the back. Sheet size 70 x 50.3 cm.
About Florian Süssmayr
Florian Süssmayr's paintings usually focus on everyday life, the incidental: the pubs and graffiti of his native city or the passion Süssmayr shares with his friends for punk and soccer that he takes up in his sometimes-monumental paintings. The depictions seem to be both illustrations and expressions of life on the margins of society.
The artist was born in 1963 in Munich, where he still lives and works today. He has had a solo exhibition at the Haus der Kunst, Munich (2005), among others.
