Detailed description
Life-size statue "Monique" (version with staff)
It is not only inspiration that brings forth new forms of expression. It is also the technical possibilities. The finely crafted silhouettes of life-size human figures made of sheet steel can only be realised through state-of-the-art plasma cutting. And yet, as unusual as they may seem, at first sight, they are very much in the tradition of large-scale sculpture, which began in stone and marble with the Greeks.
The sculpture "Monique" shows, appropriate to the technique, a modern, contemporary human being and is suitable as an eye-catcher in the garden. A tube welded to the back ensures sufficient stability. The sculpture can be firmly anchored in the ground with the enclosed rod and can stand freely.
Large sculpture "Monique" with a pole: height 175 cm. Made of 3 mm thick sheet steel and covered with a rust patina. Weight approx. 12 kg.
A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.
While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, in bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually, it is made of clay or other easily mouldable materials.
The prime time of sculpture after the Greek and Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Contemporary artists such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz also enriched sculptures with outstanding works.
