Detailed description

Sculpture "The Reader", bronze

At the core of his artistic work, Höger places depictions of people. He works figuratively, but his artistic form concept remains very contemporary. Even for this sculpture, for which he chose a classic motif "The Reader", he manages to find a very contemporary form of expression.

Sculpture in fine bronze, cast using the Lost-Wax-Process, chiselled by hand, polished and patinated. Limited edition of 199 copies, numbered, monogrammed and hallmarked with the foundry and ars mundi stamp. With numbered certificate of authenticity and limitation. Size approx. 13.5 x 9 x 12 cm (h/w/d). Weight approx. 1.2 kg. ars mundi Exclusive Edition.

About Luis Höger

Luis Höger (born in 1946), a graduate of the Munich Art Academy and winner of the European Design Award for Wood Sculptors, presents his work in numerous exhibitions and public spaces. Therefore, he is an entirely contemporary artist. And yet, like many "adepts of wood", he stands on solid ground in terms of his craft. Höger is in demand as a restorer of centuries-old carvings, and whenever he finds the time, he devotes himself to producing traditional masks.
