Pearl Necklace "Shou - Longevity"
Shou is the Chinese word for "longevity". According to traditional beliefs, the presence of a certain visual symbol could have a specific, desired effect on the wearer's life. The stylised Shou symbol originates from a Chinese necklace on display in the collection of the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.
Necklace made of jade beads and gold-plated tin elements. With lobster clasp. Length 43 cm. Pendant diameter 2 cm.
