Picture "I gemelli", framed

The sparing use of colour is characteristic of Renzo Vespignani's creative period in which this work was created (1975). He depicts "The Twins" in pastel shades ranging from light grey to anthracite - as a contribution to the graphic series "The Signs of the Zodiac". With delicate white and ochre tones, he traces the contours and sets the lights on the double girl's face, which at one time looks at the viewer and in another moment ignores him with an absent gaze directed dreamily into the distance. The depiction visualises the multi-layered nature of those born with this zodiac sign, which makes them so enigmatic and at the same time so interesting and attractive.

Photolithograph in five colours, signed by the artist and numbered on the back. Limited edition 5,000 copies. Sheet size approx. 28 x 21 cm (h/w). Framed in a silver-coloured solid wood frame with bevel cut passe-partout, glazed. Size 45 x 36 cm (h/w).
