About SAXA

The art of SAXA alias Sascha Lehmann (born 1975) is word painting. He writes his pictures, letter by letter. "Sometimes, there are more than three thousand. They can enlighten or transfigure, create clarity or irritation, reach the head or the stomach… or both," says the artist. Image and text are always in an interrelation, which creates the extraordinary tension of his works. In this way, SAXA always requires the viewer to take a second look as a reader.
