Bonded Bronze
Bonded bronze is a widely used variant of art casting and is used by artists as well as artisans. In the process of casting with bonded bronze, the bronze powder is mixed with a polymer. This mixture can be poured into any shape using a pre-made mould. Therefore, bonded bronze is particularly suitable for the production of sculptures. The bonded bronze sculptures are visually indistinguishable from traditional bronze casting because a special polish and patination technique ensures that the surface looks very similar to real bronze. Additionally, this technique is suitable for producing reproductions, such as antique statues or famous sculptures. For high-quality works, the moulds are taken directly from the original, capturing the same fine details. Due to the lower material costs and the less complex production process, sculptures made of bonded bronze are usually somewhat less expensive than sculptures produced using traditional bronze casting, for example, the Lost-Wax-Process. In addition, they are lighter compared to solid bronze sculptures.
