Bonded Bronze

Bonded bronze is a widespread variant of the cast and is used by artists as well as in craftwork artists. Bonded bronze is a cast in which bronze powder is mixed with a polymer. This mixture can be cast into any shape with the help of a prefabricated model. Therefore, bonded bronze is particularly suitable for the production of sculptures. The bonded bronze sculptures can hardly be distinguished visually from conventional bronze casting because a special polish and patination technique ensure that the surface looks very similar to real bronze. However, this technique is also suitable for the production of reproductions, for example, of antique statues or famous sculptures. For high-quality works, the moulds are taken directly from the original and show the same fine details. Due to the lower material costs and the less complex production process, sculptures made of bonded bronze are usually somewhat less expensive than sculptures produced using traditional bronze casting, for example, the Lost-Wax-Process. In addition, they are more lightweight than solid bronze.
