The painter Franz Marc once described the beautiful aspects of autumn: "There were wonderful autumn days, heavy frost and completely white mornings; it is great to ride or drive off in the starlight and then see the sun coming, loosening the white glittering frost."

Throughout the epochs, the season of autumn inspired renowned artists to create atmospheric works of art. Otto Modersohn painted "Autumn in the Moor", Gustav Klimt’s "Beech Forest", and Vincent van Gogh’s "Avenue of Poplars in Autumn". Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin also brought autumnal scenes onto canvas in bright colours. And against the days getting shorter and shorter in the autumn season, it may help to see it like the French painter and graphic artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who once said: "Autumn is the spring of winter."
