Guido Häfner
Guido Häfner was born in Upper Franconia, Germany, in 1968 and studied at the Technical University of Munich, among other institutions. Since 1995 he has been working as a freelance sculptor and graphic artist and has collaborated on numerous projects with his brother Johannes under the name Häfner + Häfner. At art Karlsruhe 2010, their joint sculptural and printmaking special show attracted interest and was purchased by numerous collectors.
Guido Häfner's masterly handling of steel combines surreal and abstract elements. He creates figures whose cultural context he deliberately leaves open.
His works can be found in numerous collections, including the art collection of the German Bundestag, the Berlin Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage, the Goethe Institute in Taiwan, Abu Dhabi and Sweden and the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. His sculptures can also be found in numerous public places.
