Humour You Can See: Tips for the Right Effect
Funny paintings unfold their effect best where one can devote sufficient attention to their wit. A few tips on spatial effect:
- Rooms where sociable gatherings come together: for example, living room, dining room or kitchen. Here, the humorous paintings provide a stimulus for lively conversations.
- Rooms where seriousness is to be deliberately broken: for instance, in offices or doctors offices, where the funny works of art create a stylistic contrast.
Tip: Use our interior configurator to check how the punchlines of the pictures come into their own in different room environments. In this way, you can virtually hang your desired painting and experience the effect of the work in your spaces.
Presenting Humorous Art Correctly
Funny pictures work best when they are given enough space to show their message. Good presentation is important for this. The following tips can help:
- Humour needs space to unfold: Therefore, place the funny paintings with sufficient distance from other objects so that the wit is not lost in cluttered arrangements.
- Laughter in series: Hang several caricature pictures by the same artist in a row. This way, the funny works of art will work harmoniously as an ensemble.
- A surprising touch to make you smile: Funny paintings are often unconventional and can, therefore, also be presented in unusual ways – for example, in places where they are not expected, such as the guest toilet or in the hallway next to the coat rack. This creates a surprising eye-catcher.
