Richard Orlinski
"I love art off the beaten path."
Since 2015, Richard Orlinski has been the world's best-selling contemporary French artist. He began his artistic career in 2004, creating his first work, a bright red crocodile made of resin, which soon became an iconic piece in the sculptor's bestiary. The artist drew inspiration from popular culture, everyday objects, and popular things. Soon, Richard Orlinski developed new sculptures, often depicting animals, all representing freedom, power and passion. The result: electrifying works of art in vibrant colours and a multifaceted style, exhibited worldwide.
Displaying his often-spectacular works in unconventional places and outdoor spaces quickly became his trademark. Driven by the desire to democratise art by making it accessible to the general public, Richard Orlinski explores all forms of expression, and his art knows no boundaries.
In 2021, French Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin appointed him as an Officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. With several million followers on social media, Richard Orlinski has built a highly engaged community of art lovers and enthusiasts. This strong connection undoubtedly serves as a great source of inspiration for him, as he gives 100% to every project. "I firmly believe in the transformative power of art (...) Often, people may hesitate to step into a gallery or museum, so I strive to bring the museum to them."
