David Shrigley

David Shrigley was born in 1968 in Macclesfield in Great Britain and studied at the School of Arts in Glasgow. The artist is known for his naïve style of painting, which he always combines with typographic elements, thus adding wit and irony to the compositions.

The painter, sculptor and graphic artist is represented in prominent collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. David Shrigley lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
