Picture "The Steep Coast of Brodten - Baltic Sea" (2009), framed
"The body is the beach of the soul", according to an old saying. The place where the movable meets the solid, where the refreshing drench the thirsty. Gerd Bannuscher has captured this encounter on canvas with "The Steep Coast of Brodten". Sensations and light effects are condensed into a total work of art - more strongly than in a photograph. An eternal surf. Refreshing!
Giclée print on canvas, limited edition of 199 copies, numbered and signed on the back. Stretched on stretcher frame. Stretcher frame size 40 x 134 cm (h/w). Framed in silver solid wood shadow gap frame. Size 44,5 x 138,5 cm (h/w).

About Gerd Bannuscher
A moment of eternity, the Northern German painter Gerd Bannuscher captures this timespan in his elaborate paintings. He approaches the essence of things with a fine stroke as if there were more to them than the visible reality. As if there was a message hidden in the image.
The hyperreal presence of the motifs is indelibly heightened by Bannuscher's precision craftsmanship. Cool and shimmering colours with a slightly metallic touch merge with the fine detailed lines. All accentuated by the contrast of light and dark and the many narrative details. In all his works, Bannuscher creates a special, quiet drama that clearly addresses our emotional depth of perception.
The artist, who lives in Eichede, Germany, sees his works not only as an aesthetic but also as a political and social view of life, creating an awareness of the beauty and vulnerability of our planet.
In addition to numerous national and international exhibitions, Bannuscher has been working for the Sultanate of Oman since 2003.
Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler "to squirt, to spray".
The Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format print produced with an inkjet printer using special different-coloured dye- or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The inks are lightfast, meaning they are resistant to harmful UV light. They provide a high level of nuance, contrast, and saturation.
The Giclée process is suitable for art canvases, handmade paper and watercolour paper as well as silk.
