Detailed description

Necklace / Brooch "Nebra Sky Disk"

It is said to be over 3,600 years old, which makes it the oldest known depiction of the night sky: the bronze disc excavated in July 1999 near Nebra in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, is now considered one of the most valuable treasures of cultural history. The Nebra Sky Disk is a key find for European prehistory. Anyone who looks at this unique find for the first time immediately recognises the sun, moon and stars on it. The sky disc is the only object from such an early period that bears such striking references to celestial science. In 2012, it was decided to include it in the "Register of National Protected Cultural Property". Since June 2013, the Sky Disk has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Significant records from the history of humanity are collected in this "Memory of the World Register".

The Sky Disc Necklace is an exceptional necklace in every respect: an ideal gift for every art and culture-loving woman!

Pendant made of 925 sterling silver, blackened, polished and partly gold-plated, diameter 4.1 cm; on a gold-plated silver choker, length 42 cm, with a clip closure. The pendant can also be worn as a brooch. Exclusively at ars mundi!
