About the exhibit
Have you spotted him yet – the big bad wolf?
Take a closer look. Or better still: take a step back. Because the trees that make up this forest are no ordinary trees – they are made up of the letters of the word “wolf”. Typographic, handcrafted, three-dimensional. A work of art that only reveals its full secret at second glance.
Fairy tales tell of courage, cunning and the power of imagination. This 3D object does the same – only cast in craftsmanship.
A work of art for...
- Fairy-tale lovers young and old who look closely
- Anyone looking for a gift that tells a story
- Children’s bedrooms, libraries and living spaces with a flair for the extraordinary
Whether as a charming conversation piece in the living room, a gift for a new baby or a birthday present – this 3D picture uniquely combines typography, humour and the magic of fairy tales.
With imagination and wit, the professor of business communication, born in 1960, stages words and quotations as innovative typographic object images. Using three-dimensional figurative design elements, Birkelbach reinforces the text’s message, thereby creating an expressive link between poster art and miniature sculpture.
Each piece is handcrafted and signed by the artist. The object images are framed in solid wood with high-quality, anti-glare glass. Limited edition of 249 copies, with certificate. Size 35 x 35 x 7 cm (h/w/d).
