Andreas Franke's works are created as elaborately composed montages: underwater photographs of sunken ships are combined with scenes staged in the studio. The work "Marie" is part of the series "The Sinking World - Stavronikita Project" and depicts a Rococo scene full of elegance and opulence - staged in the calm depths of the sea.
4-colour photo edition on Fuji Crystal Archive paper on Alu-Dibond. Limited edition of 49 copies, numbered. Includes a certificate signed by the artist. Size 50 x 70 x 2.5 cm (h/w/d). With suspension device. ars mundi Exclusive Edition.

About Andreas Franke
The Austrian photographer and artist Andreas Franke gained international recognition through his underwater projects "The Sinking World" and "Plastic Ocean".
In 2010, he combined his passion for diving with his photographic vision and opened the world’s first underwater photo exhibition on the wreck of the USNS Vandenberg off Key West, Florida. His works are created as elaborately composed montages: underwater photographs of sunken ships are combined with studio-staged scenes.
His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums across Europe and the United States.
A form of presentation favoured by professional photographers and exhibition organizers. Increasingly, artists are creating works for this carrier made of high-tech composite aluminium. The metallic surface creates a synthesis with the colours. White areas of the image are shimmering matt-metallic, depending on the light source, giving the image an elegant and puristic appearance. Thanks to the direct colour pigmentation the details are depicted precisely. Alu-Dibond is long-lasting and resistant.
