Hundertwasser Paintings
Friedensreich Hundertwasser: Paintings Full of Expressive Power
Hundertwasser created his paintings wherever he was. This includes not only the many countries around the world he travelled to but also restaurants or train rides where he always had a paint box and paper at hand. Regardless of their place of origin, Friedensreich Hundertwasser's artworks are united by their natural forms, featuring recurring symbols like the spiral.
As an environmental activist, he cared deeply about nature and naturalness. The artist often described his own painting as "vegetative". The unconscious, spontaneous element, which cannot be squeezed into standardised forms, is evident in all his works.
Paintings by Hundertwasser - Tips for Selection
If you are considering purchasing a Hundertwasser painting, we recommend you consider a few aspects in advance. Hundertwasser's expressive, colourful paintings have a significant influence on a room's ambience. Therefore, check your existing interior style, colours, and textures to ensure they harmonise with the bold colour palette of the painting.
Home accessories that echo the painting's main colours without creating a visual overload are also recommended. Pro tip: When choosing a Hundertwasser painting, consider not only the aesthetics but its symbolism, too. Motifs such as trees underline the love of nature, spirals and waves represent dynamism, and energy, while the blaze of colours conveys pure joie de vivre. This way, you will find a work of art by Hundertwasser that appeals to you on many levels.
