Detailed description
Picture "Kimono Blossom"
Yōshū Chikanobu was a leading artist of the Meiji period (1868-1912). This was a time when Japan experienced the reinstatement of the emperor as ruler and was experiencing rapid westernisation. He was one of the most productive woodblock print artists of this time and worked with traditional motifs such as actors, courtesans, scenes of famous sites, beautiful women but also with topical subjects such as the Satsuma Rebellion (1877) and the first Japanese-Chinese War (1894-1895.)
High-quality edition on Alu-Dibond behind 3 mm thick acrylic glass, with stable mounting. Size 50 x 100 cm (h/w).
Alu-Dibond made for modern and elegant presentation: UV-resistant print, brilliant colours in high resolution, glossy finish with a protective lacquer, 3 mm aluminium composite plate in three layers. Due to the smooth surface, mirror effects may occur depending on the incidence of light.

A form of presentation favoured by professional photographers and exhibition organizers. Increasingly, artists are creating works for this carrier made of high-tech composite aluminium. The metallic surface creates a synthesis with the colours. White areas of the image are shimmering matt-metallic, depending on the light source, giving the image an elegant and puristic appearance. Thanks to the direct colour pigmentation the details are depicted precisely. Alu-Dibond is long-lasting and resistant.
Depiction of typical scenes from daily life in painting, with distinctions between rural, bourgeois, and courtly genres.
The genre reached its peak and immense popularity in Dutch paintings of the 17th century. In the 18th century, especially in France, the courtly and gallant painting became prominent, while in Germany, a more bourgeois character developed.
